At the beginning of the project my intention was to explore the whole genre of Rock and Roll and the freedoms and expressions that music in general allows you to do. From further conducting my research into the revival of Rock n Roll and where it all started, including some very influential musicians/artists along the way. YUNGBLUD as an artist focuses on emotional and connective material. With this in mind I wanted to try and capture the emotional experience of music. I planned to attend a series of live gigs/events around Nottingham, however circumstances and the weather meant that none of these could go ahead. 

At this stage i was pretty much stuck with no material to work with, although my ideas had  already formed around the theme of emotions and music. Further conducting my research i came across the work of Kandinsky. 

This lead me in a completely different direction with the project because my interest became less fixed on Rock n Roll and more about Abstract expressionist paintings fed by a condition called synesthesia that influenced this series of paintings by Kandinsky. 

My focus became more about the art instead of musicality.

 Mannequin Concept Layered Into Wood And Natural Forms Bringing the natural and aesthetic world together. I have always been fascinated in nature and how we take it upon ourselves as humans to take great pleasure in removing it from its natural environment and essentially using these materials that are not ours to take in the first place and repurposing them as pieces of furniture/interiors. FMP Inspiration

 FMP Inspiration  ASD Creativity- It is about tapping into my creativity and not allowing society to decide who I am as an individual and a space where I can be undeniably myself without having to apologize. Generally people have no awareness or any understanding of how day to day life impacts on or affects me as an ASD individual on the spectrum. The spectrum colours the world in a different light. The emotions that you feel, I'm feeling ten times the intensity. Experiences that you have and struggle to recover from, I won't be able to recover for twice as long. Having ASD is constantly not fitting into a world that I perceive often as saying 'you don't belong here with us, you're built different. We are what we are and don't want you to dye/colour our lives. You make our lives more challenging and we don't need to accept you or understand you because we had zero interest in you to begin with.' FMP. Final Piece, thoughts...

Exploring and developing ideas/concepts around my Theme of  'Musicality and Fluidity'  Themes of child/adult behaviors and ways of navigating life and comparing the differences between characteristics/traits. Using wood as a solid foundation to build upon. Looking at colours and meanings behind colours and what they initially spark in us and resonate in our minds. Do we reminice or hang our heads down low? Making connections between a feeling and the triggers causing them to be released. I had the thought of merging my ideas together in the form of wood and a series of bodies allowing their bodies and souls to dance around the campfire seeing each other encased in the flames. This is a joyous and freeing experience that we all have and will take part in at least once in our lives. Each person holds a different memory in relation to a bonfire. The flames ignite the endorphins within you which rushes to the surface like fluid river rapids.  There is fun to be had here along...
